They live in a world where you don't see your reflection.  (Which can kinda make it hard when seeing how you look as you can image) instead you see a blur, in a basic human shape. It doesn't stay like this. When you first meet your soul mate it clears slightly. The more you see them, know them and fall in love with them your reflection clears more and more. Until finally you have the joining ritual and you both have your reflections full and clear. Unfortunately those  who loose there soul mates loose their reflection. 

Elizabeth is jealous. Her sister and her stupid soul mate where always parading around showing off their love. Until a dark and dangerous man make Elizabeth make a grave mistake.
