After they get 'rejected' a fire starts in the Phatom troupes current base and the rest of the troupe leave Shalnark and Feitan locked in the burning base to die. Once Shalnark and Feitan find out they had left them to die they get heartbroken after being betrayed by the people they thought they could trust, so they decide to rebel against the Phatom troupe making their own team of theives, and they swore to kill their ex friends for betraying them.
