Takara Tsukino which means treasure moon field, is 16 years old and all her life has been kept indoors and away from her siblings. Why? She's a vampire. She has only ever met the maids who bring her food and clothing. According to the maids she has three siblings. Her older sister Kiriko, her older brother Reiji, and her baby sister Kame. She has never seen the sun set or heard birds sing. She doesn't even know what snow is.
