After being fired from his job, dumped by his fiance, evicted from his house, and given a dog all in the same day, Dax Gallagher wonders how his life could proceed to get any more complicated. When his grandmother, Cece comes to visit, Dax has to quickly reassemble his life to include begging his best friend’s sister to play the role as his fake fiance in fear of Cece’s disappointment in him. Erica and Liam are only 11 or 12 when they decided they want to be 'girlfriend and boyfriend.'
