After Elena tells Damon she's not in love with him anymore he gets upset. (And we all know how Damon Salvatore is when he gets upset.) He goes after Elena only to be stopped by none other than the Mikaelson boys, Klaus and Elijah. They take her to the Mikaelson Mansion to keep her safe. The only people she can trust is Klaus, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah. Like that she becomes a part of The Mikaelson Family.
