Jack and Gabriel, who are working as cops in Santa Fe, come across the orphan Jesse during their mission to arrest the 'Deadlock Gang' on Route 66. Gabriel takes pity on him and decides, against the will of his wife Ana, to take him home. The latter is very suspicious ofJesse and would even protect Fareeha from him. Just as things are going well, a move to Gabriel's hometown is about to take place, which will turn Jesse's life upside down in particular. When he is targeted by the police and even Gabriel begins to doubt him, he takes off overnight.
