"Everything Reminds Me Of Her." I say, looking over at Hailey.
"Luke- What do you mean?"
I sigh.
"Everything reminds me of her. I can't stop thinking about her! Ever since- since..." I trail off, feeling a stab at my heart as I hold back tears.
"The accident?" Hailey asks, and I nod as I direct my gaze to the floor. She walks over, placing a hand on my shoulder. I feel a tear roll down my face.
"I- I don't know how I can go in without her-" I choke. I feel an embrace around me. Hailey's embrace.
"I'm sorry, Luke."
His sister dead, the club broken up, and guilt eating away at Luke's conscious. Broken promises and empty memories. Reminders.
One teenager, one broken heart, and one coffee shop.
"Hello, welcome to Jazz And Jams café!" I hear someone call from behind the counter. I look over to see a grape-haired boy with pale skin. He looks uninterested, his expression plastered on to appease his manager.
"Oh.. Hello." I say. I don't sound enthusiastic, but I don't care. I hold my book in my hands, fingers dancing around the pages.
"What can I get for you?" He asks as I near the counter. I scan the menu, deciding on what I always get.
"1 caramel frappe-chino." I say. He smiles.
"Coming right up."
