Dim Lights

PROLOGUE-DIM LIGHT OF FALSE HOPE
Laying there on the floor, motionless, I tried to look up. The entire space around me was nothing but darkness.I was laying on my side, arm stretched out along side of me. When did I get here? My thoughts asked questions that I knew I would probably never know until it was to late to care about. Think about something else! I yelled at myself for getting worried at nothing and then began to think about happier thoughts. When was the last time I ate? I asked as my stomach began to tighten, then loosen out of discomfort. Assuming I ever get out of here I'll put it on my to do list to eat my favorite meal and thank my lucky stars that I survived.
Just when I began to run out of thoughts to think a dim light was visible from a far off edge in the distance of the room. It seemed like the end of a flashlight beam from my view of the floor. The stone cold floor welcomed uneasy slumber, and I'll be honest, I took it up on its offer and closed my weary eyes.
