He had been careful, he had covered his tracks, avoided update portals, kept his scorching magic under his skin, even as it bubbles and sears his veins into charcoal.

Grian had done everything in his ability to keep the Watcher's unaware of his location.
He just hadn't accounted on attracting something else's attention.
Maybe, he mused, the Watchers would have been the preferable outcome, at least they let him keep his memories.
