Wei Ying tries to find a back to his old life after Lan WangJi dumped him for his brother, only to realize that it wasn't as easy as it seemed. It felt as if the entire world had turned its back on him. He felt helpless, almost unable to breathe. The feeling one might get when they are Drowning. The helplessness and the desperation. Wei Ying felt it all. He only wished for someone to walk inside his life, he only wished to be loved once again.

Wei Wuxian suffers from Congenital insensitivity (unable to feel physical pain). After their first meeting, Wangji begins to feel pain but it wasn't his and he wonders why. He eventually comes to find out that it was Wei Ying's pain. What will he do when he realizes that Wuxian couldn't actually feel his own pain? Title inspired by Arrows To Athen's song Dust and Gold, which explores the human condition of feeling incomplete and disconnected, questioning the meaning of one's existence and searching for something beyond material possessions to give life deeper significance. ---------- Mo Dao Zu Shi inspired Fan Fiction: Characters are not mine but from MDZS and the inspiration of this FF was of reading various books and watching all the Untamed and MDZS.
