Summary:
Something isn't right. Percy knew it. Firstly, his closest friends and family were mysteriously murdered in the dead of night. Secondly, a boy who is covered in shadows informs him of Tartarus' rise. Thirdly, an old lady turns into a gigantic snake and attempts to kill him. And then fourthly, when he's accused for something he didn't do, a strange man rescues him.
But that's not all. When he comes across a strange pair of people in Central Park one day, things start to change, because once you're down, there's no getting back up…

Percy Jackson is not a good person. At least, not anymore. Percy has been through a lot. Annabeth is dead and his few remaining friends are scattered across America. Percy's been loyal and heroic his whole life, he's always done what the gods asked. And they have only ever repaid him with pain and indifference. So now it's his turn. His longing for justice is growing and the more bitter he becomes, the more it sinks in that without Annabeth, he has nothing left to fight for. But then again, there's nothing holding him back. Revenge is something that has long been above Percy. But at the end of the day, at least it's something to fight for. The gods have forgotten that loyalty goes both ways.
