In many ways, Candice Quinn is a typical high school girl. She attends school dances with her best friend, Jillian, wearing hand-me-down dresses, and laments the fact that she's completely unremarkable. But, Candice is far from ordinary because she's the childhood friend of one of the most desirable boys in the school: Curt Mezzlo. This situation would be fantastic except for one problem: Candice thinks she might be in love with Curt, but he's completely oblivious. In an effort to overcome her heady infatuation with Curt, Candice enlists the help of seemingly nondescript, but strangely compelling, Will Adams. But, things take an unexpected turn when Candice discovers that she genuinely likes Will. To complicate matters, Curt finally removes his blinders and realizes that Candice is the girl he always wanted. In the end, Candice must decide which boy she truly wants: sweet and reliable Curt, or secretive and seductive Will. Her choice will lead to unexpected consequences, and force her to understand the true nature of love, betrayal, and friendship.
