Brent lives a mostly normal life when he is murdered by a stranger. Like every other soul he goes straight to Purgatory. In Purgatory there are two lines, one leading to heaven the other leading to hell. Brent is in the heaven line when he becomes aware. In purgatory Brent infects his soul and is sent back to Earth. Like everyone who returns from the beyond, Brent is no longer human. He is a Reborn.
