Mystère
Nothing in life is perfect, you're right, I should know that by now. But when I look around at my family, at my (few) friends, at the aesthetic scenes that nature and books keep managing to provide me... I almost manage to forget the fact. It shouldn't be hard to smile, should it? Hard to talk, hard to breathe, hard to be happy? I'm not an alien, and science can prove it (I think). And so as a very human person, I don't think that it was quite fair that all that had to happen on my fourteenth birthday. My supposed fourteenth day of happiness in life. But that's not what Mother says, Mother says that it's karma. And so when I turn to ask her, do I deserve this? Am I a bad person? "No, Clara. You're just as great as I am." But Mother has low self-esteem, that isn't very reassuring- A detective walks out of the closet. There's always something watching you now. Go on, have fun, I dare you. It'll be a new experience. Hopefully, you'll be quite changed by the end of it. I'll give you fireworks, I'll give you food, I'll give you friends. Just don't look back.

Being normal was never really my thing. I never really clicked with society. Of course that might have something to do with my upbringing. My mother, she's the stone cold bitch type, would tell me, "Some people are born lucky. While others are lucky to be born." You could guess what category she placed me in. Up until recently I believed her, too. I was minding my own business when the man with the carved in smile stole me away from everything I've ever known. What he brought me to, however, I wouldn't trade for the world. From faceless brothers to eyeless killers, I was brought to live with a strange new family. So I'm getting settled in with these strange people, and only the good Lord himself knows whether I can survive this or not.
