Remi has always loved the forest, the different sounds, smells, the way she could get lost in it and never have to go home to her non-existent parents. She goes in and out of her life with her best friend everyday just waiting until they're both old enough to leave their small boring town. But one day Remi is attacked, and nearly killed, by a man in the forest. When she wakes up everything's different. She feels something inside her, a power, but she has no idea what happened to her. All she remembers is the man's strange yellow eyes. When three new boys show up at her school, one with yellow eyes, asking her question she gets nervous. And then one night while heading to go get her friend she's taken and thrown into a world she didn't know existed.

"Remi?" Jen says suddenly.
"Hmm?" I hum back.
"Do you ever wish you could just live in the forest? Away from everyone and everything?" She looks at me. "Free." We stare at each other for a long time. I see the real meaning in Jen's eyes. Her worries for going home to her overly strict parents. Her fears for the future and the unknown in general.
"If we lived in the forest we wouldn't have gummy bears any more." I comment to lighten the mood. She doesn't find it funny.
"I'm serious Remi! What if we did run away?"
"Jen, we can't just run away. I know your parents are strict but I truly think they just want what's best for you." She says nothing. For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.

"Grab that plate and throw it on the floor." I told him, handing him a plate. "Why am I---" "Just do it!" I yelled, trying to hold back the tears. He looked at me and took the plate from my hand, making careful moves so he didn't touch the tips of my fingers. "Throw it on the ground." I told him. I watched as he threw it down on the ground, pieces of one of my moms plates going everywhere. "Okay. Now what?" He asked me, a hint of impatience in his voice. I walked up to him so we were old inches apart, our noses almost touching. It would be so easy to just kiss him right now.... "Now say your sorry." I whispered to him, letting a tear slip. I felt his gentle hands wrap around me and pull me in closer. Our foreheads touched as he whispered the faithful words, "I'm sorry." I pulled away from him, making sure I didn't cut myself on the sharp shards of glass. "Did it go back to the way it was before?" I asked him, angry tears rolling freely down my face now. How could he do this to me? I am--was--his mate. He looked at me with a sad expression and then looked down. Strangled, he whispered, "No." "Do you understand now how my heart broke when I found out? Do you get it now?" "Jace, I'm--" "Don't even!" I yelled. I couldn't take this anymore. "Leave!" I screamed, letting my tears fall to the floor. He looked at me with a painful look. I felt myself die inside when he finally did turn and leave. ~*~*~*~*~* Jace didn't know what Damian was in the beginning. She thought he was just a normal boy that went to her school. The Dark Clay pack has a tradition. Once a year all the 18 year olds trek to the boarder of the Black Water pack. A very powerful pack and their closest neighbor. A simple task cross the border and make it back touching a tree the goal. Its silly. Pointless to an onlooker but to the young adults who partake it is a thrill, a right of passage. This is where we meet Mini. A little wolf with a lot to prove. Her run however does not go as planned when a member of the Black Water pack catches her. What will happen to our little Mini? Soon I see four wolves scream past me. "They saw us!" Riley links as he runs past. "Run!" I pick up the pace moving as fast as two legs can. Soon I am tackled to the ground. "What is this?" asked Emma as she held the bars. Ray answered: "It's a gate. It connects the inside and outside." "Outside, huh? We've never been outside." "That's because we've been here ever since we were born." said Norman. Ray looked into the empty path that was behind those bars. Next to him was a girl that was smaller than the three of them, yet only slightly younger. She was clearly scared, but tried to hide it. She didn't want to be the one to be afraid. Emma said: "Mama always tells us, doesn't she? 'Don't go near the gate or fence in the back of the forest because it's dangerous.'" "That's obviously a lie." said Ray, making the girl next to him look up at him. "R-Really?" she asked, taking a step to hide behind him. She got no answer, which she already knew she wouldn't get. "Hey, Ray! What do you want to do if you go outside?" asked Emma. He answered: "I don't know. What about you?" Without a missing beat, Emma said: "I want to ride a giraffe!" "Good luck." Norman, too, grabbed the bars, saying: "I wonder... I wonder what this gate is protecting us from." I of course would suggest you read it and pause at the point I marked to read "Markie" but the choice is yours. Story excerpt "Come on Ryan leave me alone!" A boy yells. "You started it Francis... come on pup don't start that with me... I don't have time for this! GO HOME!" I felt the command. I see the little 8 year old boy from last night run away crying, one of Ruby's cousins. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!" "He commanded that kid when he could have just talked to him! He is a bully with no patience!" "He is an Alpha!" She purrs with pride at his rank. I don't care! "I don't want him!" He growled and lowered himself on me so that I couldn't get out. He then shifted as I looked the other way. "Look at me", he growled. I just stared to the side. I suddenly felt large hands grab ahold of my snout. He pulled my face so that I'm looking at him. "Shift", he commanded. I didn't because I don't listen to orders. "I said shift", he demanded again. Again I just stayed there. He then got off me and went behind a tree. He came out with shorts on. "I.said.shift", he growled angrily. I shifted and started to yell at him. "Your not my alpha. I don't follow orders. If you want a submission mate then go to another girl. I didn't even want a mate nor did I want to be in a situation like this", I growled. "I am your alpha and I am your mate. Dace meets someone new...a person that captivates...and scares him. Rath Dace thinks that Rath is just a dream and dosent talk much about it. What he dosen't know is that Rath is a lot more importent in this mysterious dark society and what Rath wants, Rath gets. But things dont always go as planed...especially when the problem is Kaine. Kaine wants Dace...and wont give him up to any bloodsucker. Dace and Kaine have known each other for as long as Dace could remember. Kaine protected and saved Dace when he was bullied. Mort, is the Alpha for the Red Crimson pack and I am his Beta, Taragon. He has recently found a mate and because of an accident that happened years ago after I found mine that caused her death, my punishment was that I would never have another mate. I accepted it as punishment for not protecting her at the time and caused her death. One day, the Alpha meets his mate and she happens to be a runt in one of the worst families of our kind. He isn't too happy with her and she's so fragile looking. Although, he feels that for her, she can still be useful around the house. While he's away, I take care of some things along with keeping an eye on her also. Then something happened, out-of-nowhere, I heard my inner wolf say, 'mate'. How can she be my mate when she's the Alpha's? What can I do since I can't let the Alpha know about this? I can't defy or go against the Alpha. Yet, I can't stand the way he treats her. I hope you all give this a chance. I was going to do something along the lines of having it be the Beta's mate being mistreated and then the Alpha takes care of her. However, I strayed away from that idea because I don't know, I felt this was a better idea since the Alpha is always coming out on top and Beta's don't have mush stories.
