Nikki never had an easy life. Born to a mother who couldn't wait to leave her to the mercy of a drunkard father, Nikki was forced to fend for herself from a very young age. She ended up being raised on her father's side of her family. The grandparents had little and each day was a struggle to provide the most basic of human needs - food, clothing and education. Nikki had a certain will power. At first she didn't realise she had it in her, but as she journeyed through life, she tapped into more and more each time a challenge arose. She was a top achiever all throughout school. Was forced to work at a grocery shop after school since there was no funds to help her go to university. She saved every last cent she could after making sure her grandparents was taken care off when she could paid fortnights. After three years of struggling, she finally set off to varsity at age 22. And this is where her resilience gets tested the most. . .
