Hera Giala never asked for this. She never asked to be born into a kindom of war, let alone a kingdom at war with evil spirits the inhabitants of Giala call the Conjured. She also never asked to be the heir of it. But, when the ritual that would protect Hera from the Conjured goes badly wrong, the Conjured are after her blood and there is no one to help her except for herself. With only her friends May, Isabelle and Jacob, she must become queen. She must save her kingdom.

"We need a plan." The first thing Hera said when they got into her room. Her new friends sat on her bed. May was the first to speak.
"No, we need to hide."
Hera didn't know how much she liked May yet. Is pushed a strawberry-blonde strand of hair out of her green eyes, silently telling Hera to not argue. She ignored her.
"No way! The Conjured are here. If you can't expect that, you're dead. We need a different plan."
"I disagree."
"I don't care."
"I do."
"Well, then, go hide. What I'm going to do is fight."
And that's what Hera would do.
Not only will she undergo things that will change her forever, she has to face a great responsibility and try not to lose her friends - as well as keeping herself above the darkness and holding on to the light.
