Fay Hart has problems. A lot of them actually. But Apollo Knox is not one of them, even if she's not willing to admit it. When Apollo moves to Pacific, Washington, one of the smallest town in North America with an astounding population of 7234 people, he expects to be bored out of his mind. Except he also doesn't expect to come across Fay with her problems and ever present frown. What started as common curiosity turns into Apollo getting entangled into her beautifully sad and misunderstood demeanor. His goals change from leaving Washington as soon as possible to hearing Fay laugh more often. His heart shatters when he finds her destroyed family and warms when his family welcome her with a comforting embrace. Apollo hides his own sadness behind smiles and jokes and his mission in making a broken girl whole again but eventually even the strongest of people crack and a bit of sadness leaks out.
