Eragon, Saphira, and the elves have left Alagaesia to train the next generation of Riders.  One by one, new Riders of all four races (humans, elves, urgals, and dwarves) arrive at Du Fells Gedwëy  (The Shining Mountains), the new home of the Riders.  Eragon and Saphira, with the help of the Eldunarí and elves, must train the new Riders to the best of their abilities.  But, with four different races that have never before coexisted in peace, much less learn to fight and ride dragons together, training the new Riders is going to be much harder than either Eragon or Saphira thought.  Will Eragon and Saphira be able to defeat the obstacles that stand in their way of peace?
