The knowledge that you are fictional, and the abilities that come with that knowledge is called Transcendence. 
The Keepers want to give Transcendence to whoever qualifies for it.
The UPTA wants to strictly regulate who gets to use it. 
Paige and her companions are the catalyst that tip the scales in one direction or the other, once and for all.
