Something about those words stung Ed just a little. He wasn't not-not himself with Jack. It was just that being around him seemed to bring out the part of him that enjoyed giving and receiving pain. Cut your finger and you'll forget about your chronic headache, if only for a little while.

This story begins assuming Calico Jack left the Revenge, Ed stayed, and Jack didn't betray the crew to the English. How would the slow burn of Ed and Stede's relationship have carried on? How long would it take for them to realize their feelings for each other in the absence of life-changing events?

I had another idea for a Jack Frost fanfic so I'm going for it. THIS USES THE SAME IDEA BEHIND MY "Please Don't Use Me" Fanfic except with some alterations. Eden's life isn't exactly normal at home. Other teens come home from high school to their parents while he comes home to his mom working overnights as a nurse and his father away in the military. The only sense of normality he feels that makes him fit in is playing sports. He's the best player on his soccer team... that's until he gets knocked out and wakes up with a concussion. With the soccer season ending and him not being able to support his team, Eden is stuck at home staring at the ceiling. Such a great start to winter break. When he gets home from the hospital though, it starts snowing... and none other than Jack Frost shows up. Jack is shocked that Eden can see him while Eden on the other hand just thinks Jack is a figment of his imagination... a side effect from the concussion. Jacks gotta find a way to convince him otherwise... and he has some intentions as to why. Maybe he's been watching the boy play soccer for a while and can't help but admire him... but does Eden even feel the same? After all, Eden secretly likes guys... and he let that slip without meaning to. With Eden's loneliness though... it might not be too hard to convince him. Disclaimer: I do not own Jack Frost.
