Sarvani Biradar-Adiga moves across the country from NYU to go to her dream school, the mysterious Hillmore University in Dallas, as a transfer student. Despite its reputation for being one of the best schools in the world, it's covered in a shroud of mystery: it has no tuition, its acceptance rate is lower than Harvard's, and the school is hidden from every possible search engine. But even with these red flags, the school intrigues her so much that she uproots her entire life to see what Hillmore has to offer.

The moment she steps foot into the school though, Sarvani realizes that the school's mystery is even more magnified up close. Things seem too good to be true, and all the people there look like they're doing the impossible. She realizes that there is more to Hillmore besides its picture-perfect impression and decides to find some answers on her own. However, she gets all the answers she's looking for on one fateful night.

Soon enough, she realizes that the school isn't what she thought it was. At all. And she realizes that herself included is a new mystery to solve.

And the worst part? She has no idea where to begin because it's possibly the most illogical, ridiculous explanation ever.

Luckily, she has all the help in the world to figure it out. Accompanied by her friends and some unlikely allies, Sarvani learns many truths about her new home and herself. But some of these truths might be too hard to accept.

Set in an alternate universe, where the heroes of the Marvel universe are not Avengers but normal students at Violet Hill Community College, comes a story about love, tragedy, and magic. Sarai Rizkallah has always been defined by what has happened to her. She was left an orphan in Beirut, Lebanon, at age twelve. She wandered the streets of the capital city for almost four years, struggling to survive. After showing away on a cargo ship, she was discovered and taken in by the captain of that ship. Hal Chapelo became an adoptive father of sorts. For Sarai, her life has been one tragedy after another. But now Hal is dead, right as Sarai decided to go back to school. The fall semester at VHCC is about to start, and she's forced to move into a dorm room after Hal's funeral. She knows that the classes will be hard, that nothing will be the same, but she never thought that it would be this different. She never thought she would meet new friends: Tony Stark, Carol Danvers, and Pepper Potts. She even rekindles her friendship with a former lover, Steve Rogers, and makes friends with plenty of other heroes in their own right. Sarai never thought she would meet Wanda Maximoff. But Wanda isn't the only thing that causes Sarai to hesitate. Magic is in the autumn air, and not just figuratively. A deep-seeded magic that Sarai never knew she had starts to blossom, just like a romance with Wanda. With this magic comes a destiny Sarai didn't know she had. A destiny that brings an obligation to save those in need. A destiny that will change her and her new friends' lives forever. [Watt-tober 2018 project] [Cover is temporary.]

I hate that you live next door to me and I hate that I can't sleep at night because the thought of you has forever left a vivid image creased in the back of my mind. And most of all, I hate that you hate me. Hate, Everest Since the first grade when Olivia Kingston and her family moved in right across the street from Kyle Everest, he had believed to have instantly hated her. (At least thats how he tells the story) And maybe it was just because of the mere fact of her existence, or maybe it was that time she ate the last fruit snack at lunch, or let's not forget, in fifth grade she stole his partner in crime, being his twin sister Madeline. Now being 17 years old Kyle Everest still holds this unknown resentment against his next door neighbor Olivia Kingston, and torches her in any possible way he can, but what would happen when Olivia finally gets sick of letting Kyle torcher her unexplainably? Everything would change in the matter of one day when Olivia accidentally gets them both locked in the principals office in search of the same thing: The truth. But while staying together in a cramped room with no phones and surviving off nothing but the secret stash of their principal, while the entire schools is off on spring break, secrets will be told and feeling will unravel. And let's not forget, hate letters will be sent. This book may seem light and fun but it has some mature scenes and dark thoughts that I'd suggest for viewers 16+
