Sarvani Biradar-Adiga moves across the country from NYU to go to her dream school, the mysterious Hillmore University in Dallas, as a transfer student. Despite its reputation for being one of the best schools in the world, it's covered in a shroud of mystery: it has no tuition, its acceptance rate is lower than Harvard's, and the school is hidden from every possible search engine. But even with these red flags, the school intrigues her so much that she uproots her entire life to see what Hillmore has to offer. The moment she steps foot into the school though, Sarvani realizes that the school's mystery is even more magnified up close. Things seem too good to be true, and all the people there look like they're doing the impossible. She realizes that there is more to Hillmore besides its picture-perfect impression and decides to find some answers on her own. However, she gets all the answers she's looking for on one fateful night. Soon enough, she realizes that the school isn't what she thought she was. At all. And she realizes that herself included is a new mystery to solve. And the worst part? She has no idea where to begin because it's possibly the most illogical, ridiculous explanation ever. Luckily, she has all the help in the world to figure it out. Accompanied by her friends and some unlikely allies, Sarvani learns many truths about her new home and herself. But some of these truths might be too hard to accept.
