Their lives are changed in the weeks days before Africa's sixteenth birthday when they are offered the chance to change their lives forever. They take it and find themselves in New York away from their town Garston Falls, where Africa and Trey separately discover things about themselves and begin to keep secrets from each other for the first time ever.
Africa's life has been full of disappointments and she wants this birthday to be the first one in years to go well.
