Dean and Castiel have been known each other from the age 5, Castiel is a quiet kid that sits in the corner and got picked on and Dean was quite popular and stood up for himself, when they were little Dean protected Cas from bullies all the was through school and have been the closest friends for the longest time. When they moved up to high school Dean joined the football team, and Cas felt like he was drifting away from Dean as he was getting more and more popular and spending less and less time with Cas.
