An ailing professor reflects on his decades long relationship with a troubled alcoholic.

Heath Rosco has been in love with Alexander for years, but it's not getting any easier. High school friends, turned lovers, the two men are torn apart by fate as they desperately try to maintain their relationship despite outside forces.

Loosely inspired by the life of Alexander the Great.

Trigger/Content Warning: heavy depictions of alcoholism throughout. A character gets alcohol poisoning on page. A character seems to be suicidal. Self harm discussed at length and depicted throughout. Some brief racism (the protagonist is discriminated against). Some profanity. A major character dies in a traumatic manner.

**I'm gonna be perfectly honest here, I wanted to write something that feels like listening to an entire Taylor Swift album, mostly Folklore, like you just went through a whole relationship, not yours, but you're still emotional about it

If it weren't for his two siblings, he would have given up years ago. For a long time, he wanted to, thought about it every day even. Sometimes - in the cruelest, darkest of nights - he still does. But if this black-and-white world has really become Elijah's grim reality, then why is this young, mysterious man capable of adding color and a heartbeat to this dreadfully achromatic still life Eli is trapped in? Who is he? And...who is he really? ~~~~~ DISCLAIMER: The storyline of this book is entirely fictional, it does not intend to mimic or describe real circumstances. READ FULL BEFORE STARTING THE STORY: TW: This book is written lightly, but has also some really serious themes that I want you to know about before reading. It talks about abuse and there are some scenes where a character is having a panic attack. If this is too close for you and you don't feel comfortable reading things like that then It might be best to not start reading /genuine <3 I want you to know before reading that this is a book with a good ending! I'm saying this because I know how devastating it is for some people after reading a story all night. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading! Much hugs to everyone:)
