In most cases- that they were not criminals. Not that they were running away trying to find a place in bundance of their species. 
A complicated type of species, hiding their existence, and so by the right of the President, more like a tyrant, bastardic tick of a kind that led them to scorn their lives away. 

All her dreams might just be true when it comes to one day.  -her mother offered a job at a mansion as a maid- in an accidental way. But in some cases- led a young woman to meet a youthful, charming young man. Which turned out to be the most eerily, normalcy, handsome young man. 

And all in a meanwhile, Valerie too, who was a someone looking for a place to stay. In hopes to find somewhere she could call home and a safe place she could find tranquility, of comfort and acceptance of her true self, being quirky and a little too spaced out for her liking. 

The journey of a new whole set of life, takes a course to where she finds a new, special pack group of people and along the way. 
Maybe a vampire.
