We had the average middle-class problems, though. You know, the ones like your older sister getting mixed up with the crowds that aren't so bad, but they just aren't so good. She's one foot in and one foot out, basically. No matter how hard you try to subtly persuade her that her friends aren't God and shouldn't be followed, she blows you off because you're "talkin' cray."

There are usually so many problems that the very foundation on which you live can be felt crumbling with the tremors of divergent plates - leaving each person isolated, asunder, their own problems hidden like secrets beneath the prominent voice in their head that tells them to send up their walls and polish their facade because they just might need it."
