There was an underground facility, that holds infected and not, and the special crystal that remains in a palace from one of the infected. The infecteds only dream is the crystal to be destroyed and freed, but the one protecting it fails to keep it dies, and can never be seen again. ( I think this is the first thing I have thought of )

Killing her fueled the Radiance's anger and the Infection began to spread faster, and take more violent control over it's hosts' bodies. This continued until the little knight arrived and put an end to the "Light that Plagued their Dreams." But when the hero died something much more unexpected happened, a wyrm of void and god appeared in the Ancient Basin, with the knowledge of things that had happened before, claiming to be the Vessel the old king's followers pushed down the fountain.
