PANTHEON (Volume 1)

"If you could change the entire world with just a snap of your fingers. If you could influence the direction of human civilization with just the smallest decision, would you? And even if you wouldn't, what if it is your job?"

The girl posed this question to the boy that saved her, an ordinary mortal with nothing consequential in his life except the actions he took that very day.

That boy was me.

"I don't know." I replied. "I honestly don't know if I have the right to answer such a question."

"Nobody does, nobody subverts nature." said the girl, a goddess. "That is why we must leave humanity to its fate, whether it sinks or swims."

"Is that part really for you to decide though?" I asked. "When your job is over?"

"Well then." said the girl. "In response to that, I pose another question. "If there is no right and wrong, then should I even have to deduce the answer to a pointless question?"

It was that day that I decided I'd make Mina see the worth of humanity. And it was also the day I unknowingly sealed my path to godhood.
