Meridian Morsegrove was always a strange child. Hiding from the other children as they played, seeking refuge in halls of research and knowledge instead. While strange and reclusive she was, at one point, happy. She had a loving mother, and a father who cherished her above all else. Her Father, Bry Morsegrove, was a soldier and the lynchpin of happiness in the Morsegrove household. Without him, that happiness crumbled. On one seemingly normal day soldiers stood at the threshold to the Morsegrove household waiting to share terrible news. Bry had died in the ongoing conflict with neighboring country of Xhorhas. The soldiers offered only shallow condolences and flat reassurances that he had died as a hero in service of the king. The news struck a blow to bother Meridian and her mother. They had lost their love and their livelihood all in one day. Close to destitute and drowning in despair. Her mother had snapped under the stress that comes with being a single parent, and Meridian grew to be a bitter and distant child. One day, Meridian found herself upon a band of mercenaries, mercenaries with the extraordinary power to bend blood and channel the elements. Figuring she had no real life to leave behind, she abandoned her shell of a mother and sought to join their ranks. Thus she began her struggle as a member of the Unchained Rebellion. She shed the identity of a past life and proclaimed herself Lemma Grignard, Bloodhunter and revolutionary. This is her story. A story of finding power, belonging, and friendship within a coalition that works in the shadows as it plots the overthrow of a powerful tyrant king.
