Bernadette Woods finds herself moving into a large cabin that she inherited from her father located in the lush forest just outside the small town of Pinesburrow after his abrupt death. 

After a week of settling into her new life, Bernadette's twenty-first birthday comes. With small gifts from the locals, she returns home to enjoy a night of drinking and her favorite shows when a fight between wolves in her neck of the woods interrupts her night. Using the skills her dad taught her and a hunting rifle, she sends them running with a single shot into the air. 

A soft whining soon replaces the sound of gunfire and yelps of retreating wolves. Her curiosity mixed with some alcohol leads her to a small creek to find what the wolves were making a fuss over. What she finds changes the course of her life overnight.
