Mist, the biological daughter of Vander, has loved her best friend, Vi, since they were children. While parkouring through Piltover, an accident occurs leaving Vi injured. During their escape, Mist sacrifices herself to keep the magenta-haired girl safe.
At 14, Mist enters Stillwater Prison and is forced to adapt or die. After eight torturous years, she escapes during a prison riot and heads home to the Undercity. But upon her return, Mist finds that everything she has known and everyone she has cared about is gone. That the girl who held her heart is dead. And the man responsible is Silco. The same man who betrayed her family and murdered her mother.
Now, Mist is determined to repay the favor. Using her natural ability to blend in any environment and the skills she's learned over her short life, Mist will find a way to destroy Silco and his empire. Even if it kills her.
Along the way, Mist will meet new allies and reunite with old ones. She will discover that Vi only held half of her heart as she finds the other half with an enforcer. But what happens when the half she thought lost turns up? Will her heart remain whole or will the things she must do to end Silco leave her without one?
