"It is time for you to find a suitable lady to marry, don't you think?", my mother comments. Our feast has nearley started and I have already had enough. "Not something I occupy myself thinking about.", I comment, not sure if the told lie was for her, or for me. "Stark girl is looking for a husband. Talissa, if I remember correctly. I think she would be a good fit for you.", she persists and I chuckle, "A good fir for me yet you barely know her name." She opens her mouth to speak but I decide to put a stop to this annoying conversation, "A wife is something I do not need nor desire at this moment. If my dearest sister becomes queen my martial status will be the last thing to keep you up at night." My mother looks at me, "That won't happen, I assure you." Helaena touches mothers hand, taking her attention away from me. I tab my middle finger on the wooden table a few times, lifting my eye to find the person that has been, to my discomfort, taking a fraction of my mind lately. She's talking to Damon, a smile painted across her face as she rests her chin on her hand, carefully listening to him talking. It took some time before her eyes swiftly shifted from his face to mine and the realization of me looking made her drop her arm and straighten up in her seat. My attention made her visibly nervous. Few moments later she stood up and, without thinking, my body did the same. I start walking, making sure I don't loose her in the crowd. I am playing a dangerous game but it is something I simply can not seem to resist. ***** When Damon Targen finds an old broken amulet at his deceased grandmothers house, he asks his friend and co-worker Emma for help in finding more about it, but what they discover will lead them down the complicated path of his family tree and history, eventually getting them trapped in a world they know little about ...a world where war is about to break out and every small move you make decides if you will live or die.

When Jade is confronted with someone from her past, she is torn between protecting her loved ones, and leaving the one she loves. Having no other choice, Jade must live through her worst nightmare in order to protect her loved ones, and hopefully make it out alive to be with the one she loves. ________________________________ SNEAK PEEK: "Wh-why are you doing this? What do you want ?" I questioned, staring deeply into his brown orbs, reminiscing how I used to get lost in them so easily. "Oh stop this act Jade, you're smarter than that. You know exactly what I want." He said, stalking closer, his voice smooth as silk, yet has a bit of a rough tone to it , as he placed his hand on on my cheek, and his thumb softly traced my bottom lip, causing a jolt of excitement to travel throughout my body, which I instantly scolded myself for. I shouldn't be affected by him, not anymore. "Well you can't have me!" I slapped his hand away, then pushed him causing him to stumble backwards. I then quickly grabbed my purse, and pulled out my taser. I pointed it towards him as I said "get out! GET OUT!" He seemed surprised for a second but then his face relaxed, as a smirk took place on his lips, he took a few steps towards the door then turned and said "Don't worry Jade, I will have you. Whether you want to or not, I will do whatever it takes to it happen. Mark my words Jade Christina Reaves, you will be mine, and that is a promise."

Wren's life is about to change forever - but not how she expects it to. Kidnapped on her wedding day, she finds herself trapped in a mountain cave, unable to return home with no company outside of the inhuman creature that took her. *** "Wait, Wren! Not that way!" It was darker here and panic limited her vision, but she could see it reaching for her; its wings like two huge looming shadows behind it. "Get away! Don't touch me! No, let me go!" She shrieked. She screamed in earnest as a hand took hold of her arm, and then even more when her own hand reached for something to hang onto and grasped at empty air. She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.

"It's a fairy tale curse Casey," he told me. "A fairy tale curse. A fairy tale cure." "I still don't understand," I whined like a child. He gave me that beautiful half smile of his. "It's very simple," he teased. The sun was fading... "Just spit it out then," I shot back. It was almost gone... so close to gone... he leaned close, so close I could feel his breath on my ear... It tickled a bit. "Just one kiss to break the spell." ************** Casey Williams has always sort of believed in magic, but not for the childish reasons most people do. At 13 her brother and father were murdered by someone she was half sure she imagined... a monster. The whites of his eyes were black and the pupils snow white. The color was a hypnotizing golden, almost impossible to run from... but she did. Now three years later she faces the same monster... only it isn't exactly how she planned their reunion. And she NEVER intended on falling in love with him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Book 1
