A little over ten thousand years ago, a great war raged between humans and the dragons they had enslaved. The battles were long-fought and came with many casualties. With both species near extinction, the humans decided to surrender and free the dragons under mutual agreement to keep their worlds separate from each other. For centuries, a tense peace settled between the two species as their societies developed; Dragons hid in uncharted areas and developed semi-nomadic lifestyles with close communal bonds, while humans focused on technological developments and established towns, cities, and villages that catered to whichever lifestyle they wanted to live. However, the barrier between the two worlds is broken when a human god, Zane captures a dragon called 'Ess'.

Once upon a time a snow king fell for an apathetic servant, then a prince-turned-bear found true love in a fellow prince who almost shot him in the face. Almost. Then, of course, one can't forget a monster who found himself wanting to be more human. Bit by bit. For love. Protagonists quirky and not, sarcastic and witty and a bit too self-aware. Every fairy tale has their typical happy ending but it looks as though these ones had to take detours and backtrack on the way to theirs... oh well.
