The harsh marble floor felt frigid and uncomfortable under the two girls sitting together upon it, but the warmth emanating from their cheeks and faces was plenty enough to offset it.
"I've always wondered about the moon." The witch says, gazing up at the grey orb hanging in the sky.
"Hm?"
"There's something about it that charges things up. Makes them behave strangely. Fixes them with energy. And it's never quite affected me, but it's affected things I work with. Tonight feels different."
"How so? Is the moon charging you? What strange behaviour do you want to do?"
The witch ran her hand over the pattern stitch seam on the hat on her head, before fiddling with her fingers.
"I want to kiss you."
