Our world just got a really big upgrade.
Twin siblings Callissa and Callan Sura caught the world by storm when they introduced a whole new sport to their local high school. Virtually possible for anyone with the will and skill to play, it has become the most popular sport in the school AND state. With the popularity of their sport spreading, the Sura twins face action and excitement with open arms.
Characters:
Callissa "Callie/Cal" Sura- Nice, sweet, pretty, tough, with a sarcastic side. This girl gets annoyed easily and has a short temper to match. Just turned 15 years old, Callie, along with her twin brother Callan, are the reigning champions of their self-made sport.
Callan "Cal" Sura- Nice, laid back, athletic, funny, with a teasing/joking side. He likes to tease his sister sometimes but it usually doesn't turn out so well. Just turned 15 years old, Callan, along with his twin sister Callie, are the reigning champions of their self-made sport.
Mac Arota- Calm, caring, joking, athletic, with a soft side. Mac has known the twins since first grade. Though not as strong as either of the twins, he holds position as their fellow champion.
The Game:
Ariata- An arena customized with state of the art tech equipment that virtualizes real life and fictional battle fields. Schools are given virtual pads and tablets to transform their gyms into arenas for their Ariata teams. Designed like a video game, players lose once their health bar reaches zero. Players can feel pain and fatigue, but return to their original health once their battle ends. Players can customize their own battle suits, but can only use their current physical abilities. Battling and training improves your physical abilities, which can level you up and give you access to more weapons and battle fields. Players are allowed to use weapons and customize their appearance to an extent. Ariata also allows only the highest level players to use a little something called...magic?
The year is 2045. In order to train the next generation of air force pilots, countries around the world have turned air combat into a school sport, officially naming it "Fire Flight". Simply put, a fire flight is a simulated air combat scenario, be it air-to-air or air-to-surface, using dummy munitions to score hits on air/surface targets. It's been 2 decades since the sport was created and some of the best pilots in the world were molded from fire flight. The best pilots usually came from the best schools which had a lot of money to provide the best equipment possible. However, the same cannot be said about the lesser fortunate schools. All schools, rich or poor, have to pay for all the equipment (aircraft, dummy munitions, etc.) themselves. Meaning the rich schools usually were able to afford the best tech while middle and low class schools had to settle for hand-me-downs or worse. Kevin McNamara is an autistic senior in the backwater high school of Monarca High, Monarca, California. He will join the "Monarca Kestrels" fire flight squadron and fill the spot of Kristopher Kestrel, who tragically died in an aircraft collision earlier in the year. He will have to get antiquated with his teammates who are still recovering from Kristopher's death. As a flight of three jets, all of which are relics of the distant past, they will have to work together as they fight above their weight class in almost every match they enter. Kevin will have to experience grief, romance, and the harshness of gatekeeping on top of all the usual stresses of a fighter pilot if he wants his team to become the best fire flyers in the America.
