Hope, daughter of Emma Swan the Savior and Hook Jones the Pirate, tries to start her life with a bang by doing just about everything she can to appear as the best princess. Working at Ruby's, practicing her magic with Queen Regina, and mastering sailing pirate ships leaves no room for error. She decides to add one more thing to her long list of duties, and that is join the sheriff's department.
Her mother does not agree with the idea, but Hope's persistence causes her to cave and assign a hunt. Roland Hood, son of the late Robin Hood, has been raised by the Merry Men in the original Enchanted Forest and lives by their classic mantra: Steal from the Rich and Give to the Poor.
Emma did not expect her daughter to find the thief, and Hope did not expect to return home to find out her mother had been taken by an unknown being. Hope now has another thing to add to her list of duties: Save the Savior.
