The Durin brothers find themselves separated from the company only a few days after setting out from The Shire. Lost and with growing unease, FILI and Kili wander the seemingly endless forest, trying to find the main road or the company.

They accidentally stumble through a dimensional rift and find themselves in modern-day America. Very disorientated by everyday things like cars and prickly, inhospitable people. One family accepts them into their home, much to the brothers' relief.

The family has two children. One is a girl named Kali Junelle. Fili senses something different about her. She's not like anyone he's ever met. But there's also something very dark about her... something not quite right.

Above everything, Fili and Kili must find a way out of this world. The key to the exit, however, might lead them into deeper waters than they ever imagined. There's something about that girl that might change everything.

A Maybank and A Cameron? It's almost like a modern Romeo and Juliet. It's forbidden for them to be together. Could be the end of the world. The stolen glances, the hidden feelings, the unspoken words, the secret meetings and the obvious hatred towards each other followed by constant conflicts and some hidden past that threatened them but there are always invisible strings tied and pulling them together no matter how hard the tides trying to pull and part them away from each other.
