How far will someone go to keep their secrets hidden? That is the question confronting Ashley Purdy when he buys a piece of furniture and discovers something that no one was ever meant to see. He hands it over to the police, thinking that will be the end of the matter. But when the detective he speaks with is found murdered, he realizes that his problems have actually just begun. After a series of ominous incidents involving both Ashley and a young Hollywood stuntwoman, Briar Malveaux, LAPD homicide detective Garrett Sanger realizes that they have both become the targets of a sociopathic serial murderer. Forced to distance themselves from those closest to them, and with only Sanger and an alcoholic mechanic to rely on, Ashley and Briar are forced to go on the run in an attempt to stay one step ahead of a ruthless killer who seems able to anticipate their every move. *Warning : Contains strong language, descriptions of graphic violence, and sexual situations.

Nobody ever thinks their life will shatter in an instant-until it does. Not at first. You wake up, you go through the motions, and you trust the people around you. You laugh, you cry, you love. You never stop to wonder if the hands you hold today will be the same ones that destroy you tomorrow. I never did. I never questioned the warmth in his smile, the strength in his presence, the way he stood by my side like a shadow I could always rely on. I thought I had finally found someone who understood me, someone who didn't see me as an outsider. Someone I called a brother. But trust is a dangerous thing. It blinds you. It makes you miss the signs staring right at you. Because the moment I saw the truth- I realized I had been holding the devil's hand all along. #5 Survivor #36 Obsession
