"What if I could be known for my name and not my number? What if I could be something I'm not?" "I feel like I'm on the brink of something, but leaning over the edge of this cliff might cost me something; a price I'm not ready to pay." 16-year-old Aschandra Raylor does not like conflict.Never has, never will. She's content with staying in her pacifistic coastal town. She doesn't mind living with her Citizen Number tattooed on her wrist, just like everyone else in the country of Kitemno. The number-based Class System is just another part of life, as common as waking up in the morning or feeling cold in the winter. She doesn't mind the bi-annual Provings where the government makes sure that no citizens are "Specials", people with mysterious powers and abilities who were responsible for the Continental War.She doesn't mind. But when her brother Chaid joins a rebel organization and Ascha is shortly whisked away to join one herself, she has to make an important decision. She knows she is not a Regular. Should she put everyone in this new place at risk? And if she already has, will she fight for them? Will she be able to finish strong? NOTE - THIS STORY IS UNDER HEAVY EDITING. Thanks for reading! :)
