Amlyne had been fighting the feelings she felt for Jeffrey Alan or Jeff for 10 years. They met when she was 11 and he was 14. He had moved from Vermont to South Carolina. She not only had to fight her own feelings but also had to fight with her parents. They did not approve of JP. They saw him as bad influence and dangerous. So while Amlyne was still under 18, she had to do as she was told. All that was soon to change.
