Ito ay kwento ng aking Mama tungkol sa isang kabarangay daw nila noon sa probinsya na nakakapagbagong anyo mula tao pa-baboy ramo. Minsan daw sa isang byahe ay tumigil daw ang kanilang jeep pansamantala sa tabi ng ilog. 'Yong kabarangay daw nilang pinaghihinalaang aswang ay dumadaing na nagugutom na raw siya. Paalis na sana ang jeep ngunit wala pa 'yong kabarangay nilang "aswang". Hinanap daw nila ito at sa 'di kalayuan ay may nakitang isang itim na baboy na kumakain ng damo. Pinaigting nito ang kanilang paniniwala na aswang nga ang kabarangay nilang iyon. Sa iba pang kwento, ang nasabing "aswang" ay pinaghihinalaang kinain daw ang kanyang pamilya sa sobrang gutom nito. Mahirap paniwalaan ang kwentong ito ngunit noon pa ma'y sumasagi na sa isip ko, "Paano kung ang mga aswang ay isa sa mga species ng mga tao? Hindi ba't hayop din naman tayo? At ang mga hayop ay may iba't-ibang species?" Isang tanong na mahirap hanapan ng sagot.

Pero kahit totoong alam ko sa sarili ko ang bagay na 'yan. Mas pinili kong magbulagbulagan kasi akala ko makikita mo din ako, hindi bilang kaibigan o kapatid kundi bilang isang babae. Akala ko sa paglipas ng panahon ay matututunan mo din akong mahalin at piliin kahit pa iniwan ka niya. Akala ko mapapalitan ko siya sa puso mo. Ngunit sa paglipas ng panahon. Mas lalong maging malinaw ang lahat. Naging sobrang linaw na hindi na kayang maging bulag bulagan. Hindi ko maiwasang mag tanong kung anong mali sa sarili ko.
