For the past eight years, Cassie (AKA Tori)'s life has been... complicated, to say the least. She's struggled with relationships and fought her lack of trust for everybody around her. And it doesn't help that she is always the odd one out.

She lives in a world of Protectors and Hunters, two species that have been mortal enemies far longer than any of them can remember. The humans on the outside cannot know of their existence, so they stay far out of reach of them. But Cassie must face the terrifying truth; that she is not like any of them.

Her childhood is a vast sea of memories, some easily remembered, others impossible to uncover.

But when Cassie comes across a strange Hunter, with alluring green eyes, her life takes an abrupt turn and she is must run away from the life she's come to know, the only life that has ever been permanent.

But throughout her adventures she mustn't let down her guard. And the more comfortable she gets, she must never forget, she is being hunted.
