Grounded for the summer for messing in her father's cases, Sally Justice must work in the family theater where the star of her father's production of "Fiddler on the Roof" goes missing. She literally takes a lead role in solving the case while putting herself in the path of a murderous psycho.
Sally's father, an insurance investigator, has set up shop as Justice Investigations in the Vic, the Portland, Oregon, theater he inherited from his folks. As a single parent, he provides for Sally and her brother, Billy, while she presents more problems needing solutions than do his cases for Western Insurance.
Punished in Portland is an ongoing YA mystery/thriller in my Justice Family Mysteries series. It's sequel, Naked in New York, is another YA mystery/thriller featuring Sally which will be released in the Fall. Currently, Sally, has three Young Adult books in the Justice Family Mysteries series. The first, Wasted in Waldport, is complete on Wattpad.
Sally Justice is a magnet for trouble-not trouble that gets you detention, but trouble that gets you killed. With friends Melody and Jenna, she learns Jenna's boyfriend, Wes, was murdered outside Coast Watch, a group protecting seabirds and their old-growth habitat along the Oregon coast.
Police detective Ferretti question Jenna. Sally knows him through her father, Randy, an insurance investigator. Dad runs Justice Investigations out of offices below their flat in the Vic, the sprawling theater complex Randy inherited and manages.
Sam seems to dismisses Wes's shooting as random violence against Coast Watch, but later, a clue leads Sally to loggers in Waldport.
