His obsession started with him.
His rumors that circulated the halls, stating his achievement of befriending Seraphina, the ace of this school. His unnatural black hair that he could spot within a crowd, slick with hair gel. His unnaturally pleasant smile as though he wasn't being brutally beaten up everyday.
He was different from the rest of the low-tiers, and he would be lying if it didn't make him feel some kind of way. He wanted to put this boy in his place. But there was something more sinister than just that.
At first, he wanted nothing to do with him, but not only was he sucking up to Seraphina, he was also ruining the hierarchy. There was something different about him, something that makes Arlo want to grip him in the palm of his hand, toy with him as though he was a puppet. But amongst these new feelings that surges inside of him, he finds a new, profound love and obsession over the said boy.
One that makes Arlo lose control. He simply couldn't have Seraphina capture the heart of this boy. He wanted him all to himself, every single part. His soul, body, mind, every part of him, he must mark and claim as his.
This boy was his. His toy. He could only belong to him. He wanted his name written all over the boy, every part for the world to see and acknowledge.

Everyone is born with a number on their body - at the time 1.0. It varied where it was on one's body, but there were always a few consistent features for each person: it had their soulmate's ability level, eye colour and it would glow anytime they activated their ability, like their eyes would.
At that very moment, Seraphina had pulled back the sleeve on her left forearm as she stared out in horror at the scene unfolding before her.
The 7.5 showed on her forearm near her wrist with a burnt orange-gold glow.
