Jason was the younger sibling of Yang Xiao Long, and Ruby Rose, son of Tai Yang and Summer Rose, and nephew of Qrow Branwen and Raven Branwen. However, the neglected, and sometimes outright abused him due to the fact that he had been born with the power to control, communicate with, and even create grimm. Eventually, he got tired of it and ran away. He spent his days in the wilderness with only the grimm as his companions.
