The Witch and the Scoundrel

Rowena is a strange English peasant girl, outcasted by the superstitious and pious society of 18th century Britain. Her uncanny wisdom and near-psychic knowledge are complications she has lived with all her life. Threatened with violence and persecution as accusations of witchcraft land on her, she flees constantly from her pursuers. One night, her escape lands her in a thick and harsh forest which travelers never dare to traverse. It is said that the forest is cursed, and that a monster lives within it.
