"Hey, Calliope!" the voice of an old time friend called out to her, she hummed in response and turned away from what she was doing and glanced down at the individual that was calling her name, at the sight of him, she couldn't help but smile softly before kneeling down so they were at eye level.

"What do I owe the pleasure, Roger?" said man chuckled at his friend, he waved his hand to gesture for her to lean closer, so she goes and finally noticed that he had something in his hand.

"I have a favor to ask of you." she raised a brow at that, finally taking a seat on the ground while leaning her weight into the palm of her hand while continuing to look down at him "My wife just told me that I am going to become a father, and I don't know if I'll be able to be there for her when the time comes."

"And...?"

"I already asked someone else to do this for me, but if the time where I am no longer around ever arises and something is to happen to my wife as well, could you possibly be another guardian to my child?"

How long ago was that again? She couldn't even remember, all she knows is that she unwillingly became a babysitter for this ten year old menace of a child along with his two sworn brothers that aim to be the Pirate King, to which she doesn't even hesitate to tell them that their chances of ever becoming the Pirate King was zero.

It has always been like this, since they met their psychopathic and controlling 'boss', freedom sounded like a legend in the minds of the four. Being assassin's for the infamous Blackbeard's was their job. Killing people since they were captured, trained until their bones broke, it's a never ending cycle they had to endure. For they knew what would happen if they slipped up. They never tried thinking of any type of escape plan, for every opportunity they had was quickly closed up. They thought they would stay in this corrupted operation forever, they really did. But their boss finally slipped up, bringing them to the one place they had placed all their hope in getting out. The biggest slip up of their boss? meeting the Whitebeard's. This is the first time I've written a full story about something related to an anime and manga series, and of course I had to kick it off with a new obsession of mine that is the global phenomenon known as One Piece. This was on my mind after watching the Drum Island retelling movie(bruh I bawled like a five year old), so here is a rewrite of the arc/season with my OP OC in the mix! When Nami falls ill, the Straw Hat pirates seek medical care for her on the icy coldness of Drum Island. It happens to be the very place where one of their members, sixteen year old Devil Fruit wielder Mirai Tatsumi, grew up after being casted out of her home village shortly after gaining her power to turn into a dragon hybrid. While on the island, the team meets Tony Tony Chopper, a reindeer doctor who happened to be Mirai's mentor and the only best friend she ever had long before she met Luffy. When the old king returns to claim what was rightfully his, the six pirates must band together to protect the land and its people. As a small warning, spoilers to Drum Island are in this story! Although I do not own One Piece and its characters, I do own my OC.
