Some say that everyone's fate is already determined. If that's the case, Estelle Marzena is greatly disappointed with hers. Her greatest dream is to participate in the Illyrian Blood Rite and become a Carynthian warrior, like so many in her family. She has been training for the Rite her entire life, and yet, she continues to be told that she isn't ready. Estelle must find a way to prove her skills to her mentors so that she can prove her skills to the world, and she might have unwittingly stumbled across a way to do that. A year has passed since Seren Marzena returned to the Night Court with her mate, Azriel. Their time of rest is coming to an end. Plans long kept silent are now being enacted.
