The origin of everything we know all started with Chaos, the first god, from which it sprung other primordial deities such as Gaia, Tartarus, and Eros. These first gods were older than man, older than the Greek pantheon, and older than time itself.

They were the beginning of everything and are said to be the end of everything. This was what the Olympians feared from their realm, these primordial deities had vanished once, but they knew that these old gods will reappear again- this time on earth as prophecies say, to bring an end to the universe they created.

When the Olympians roamed the earth along with the Asgardians and Mayans, they knew the earth would be protected, but ever since the gods were banished into their own realms, the earth was left helpless. The gods did what they had to do. They chose their Champions- humans bearing the gifts of the gods who represented their deities and fought off the primordial gods from awaking and uniting in full.

It had been hundreds of years since the start of this tradition, and everyone knows that some gods have already found ways to escape their realms. It was only a matter of time before the Olympians did too.

1st Place in the Percy Jackson Wattys 2018 * '"So it's settled then." Zeus said, "In order to solidify our truce with Nyx Apollo will marry Nyx's demigod daughter Ariadne."' * Ariadne lived in hell. Not the figurative type of hell-she really lived in hell. She was born and raised in Tartarus, the home of monsters, by her godly mother Nyx. She never knew anything about her father other than the fact that he was a son of Athena, and he was dead. Ariadne always dreamed of the world. She had lived her life in darkness, never seeing the light of day. That is until she turned sixteen, and her mother made a deal with the Olympians. Nyx would side with them against Kronos if Ariadne married Apollo. Unable to see her mother's real motives behind the deal, Ariadne jumps at the chance to leave hell, and get away from her mother. But Olympus is in the middle of a war, and Ariadne had never been one to sit out of a fight. If the war wasn't enough, Ariadne finds herself falling in love with the last person she ever expected to fall for. She fell head over heels for Apollo. * Disclaimer: This story is based around the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo books. All rights go to Rick Riordan. "Ever played dominoes? Personally I'm no good at it. I have no patience whatsoever. But let's say you set up like fifty dominoes. If someone came along after you'd knocked them all over, they probably wouldn't be able to see the first domino if they were standing near the last domino. They'd have to backtrack to find the domino that started it all. The one that began the chain reaction. It happens in life just like that. One day, you'll find yourself somewhere looking down at a pile of knocked over dominoes. And you have to backtrack in your mind to find that first domino-that first moment that changed everything. You didn't know that day would change your life at the time-it might've seemed completely normal. But looking back on it, it's unmistakable. Looking back on my life so far, I can safely say that September 9th was my first domino."
